Netscape Communicator is a suite of several components, each designed for specific use. The main components are Navigator, Messenger, Composer, Collabra. The Component Bar allows you to click icons to move between these components, as is shown in the image below.
When you click in the left corner of the Component Bar, the bar expands to a floating palette, which you can move to anywhere on your desktop.
Each component of Netscape Communicator also uses one or more toolbars of its own to help you navigate while you're using it. Find out more about each toolbar:
