Netscape Netcaster helps you keep close track of Web sites whose contents change frequently. It keeps track of when Web sites you've subscribed to have changed. (Netcaster is not currently available for Macintosh.)
How Netcaster works
While you're connected to the Internet Netcaster retrieves the latest copies of the Web pages to which you've subscribed. This is a convenient way to stay in touch with quickly-changing information available on the Internet, such as weather, news and sports.
To start Netscape Netcaster
Click the Communicator menu, then click Netcaster. If Netcaster is not installed on your computer (if you don't see it in the Communicator menu), you can get it from Netscape.
Netcaster reuires that Java be enabled. To ensure that Java is enabled, click Communicator's Edit menu, then click Preferences. Click the Advanced category item, then click to check the box beside Enable Java..
The Netscape Netcaster window
Netcaster's
window is actually a set of controls. Netcaster displays its channels in the
same Navigator windows used for browsing.
To see Netcaster's controls, click the tab at the right-hand side of your screen. This will slide the Netcaster drawer into view. Click the tab again to hide the drawer.
Closing Netcaster
Netcaster closes automatically when you exit Communicator. To close Netcaster without exiting Communicator, click the Exit button at the bottom of the Netcaster drawer.
