Starting Up | Browsing | BOOKMARKS | Sending Page Finding Stuff | Toolbars Bookmarks are a powerful organizational tool, but if you aren't careful, their numbers can quickly add up, turning into a very long, disorganized and confusing list of Web sites. (Note: there is a unique set of user bookmarks tied to each Communicator User Profile.)Organizing your bookmarksIt's important to be vigilant with your bookmarks, and to keep them organized. There are three ways to do this:
WindowsOpening the Bookmarks windowStart Communicator. Click the Bookmarks menu, then click Edit Bookmarks. You should see a window like the following:![]() This dialog allows you to create, rename, delete, and move bookmarks and folders. 1. Renaming bookmarksClick once on the bookmark you want to rename. Click the Edit menu, then click Bookmark Properties. The Bookmark Properties dialog will appear. Type a new name for your bookmark in the Name field. Click OK when you're done.2. Deleting bookmarksClick once on the bookmark you want to delete, then click the File menu and click Delete. Windows users can also right-click on the bookmark and click Delete Bookmark in the pop-up menu.3. Creating bookmark foldersAll Netscape bookmarks are kept in the Bookmarks for <your profile name> folder at the top of the Bookmarks window. You can create additional folders within this folder, and you can create folders within these folders. To create a new folder, click once on the folder you want the new folder to appear in. Click the File menu, then click New Folder.... The Bookmarks Properties dialog will open up. Type a name for your folder in the Name field, then click OK. Your new folder should appear in the Bookmarks window. 4. Moving bookmarks and foldersTo move a bookmark or folder, simply click on it, hold the mouse button down, then drag it to a new spot in the Bookmark window. If you want to place a bookmark inside another folder, drag it on top of the folder (the folder should become highlighted), then let go of the mouse button. You can do the same with folders .If a folder is closed, click on the small plus sign beside its name. The plus will become a minus sign, which you can click again to close the folder. Your new folder should appear in the Bookmarks window, just beneath the entry you highlighted. 4. Moving bookmarks and foldersTo move a bookmark or folder, simply click on it, hold the mouse button down, then drag it to a new spot in the Bookmark window. If you want to place a bookmark inside another folder, drag it on top of the folder (the folder should become highlighted), then let go of the mouse button. You can do the same with folders.If a folder is closed, click on the triangle beside its name. The triangle will point down; you can click it again to close the folder.
