Netscape Messenger checks for new e-mail messages every time you start it using the component bar. If Netscape Messenger is already open, you can check for new mail by clicking the Get Msg button on the toolbar.
New e-mail messages are automatically placed in the Inbox folder, and the body of the first message in the Inbox will be displayed in the Message pane. (If the Message window is not divided into two panes, click the blue triangle ( 
) in the bottom, left-hand corner of the window.)
To view another message, click the desired message in the Message List pane, as in the image below.
