Netscape Communicator is a suite of Internet software components, including
Navigator (the Web browser), Messenger
(the e-mail client), Collabra (the
newsgroup client), and Composer (the Web editor). These four componenets
are inlcuded in the standard edition of Communicator and can be accessed directly from the Netscape Component Bar.
Additional components are available by
download from Netscape's Web
site. These include Netcaster (Netscape's "push"
broadcast tool) and Conference
(a real-time multimedia communications tool).
Not only are there more "components" in this new Netscape release, but more
people can take advantage of them. Netscape Communicator uses
User
Profiles to allow several people to have their own e-mail address,
bookmarks and preferences in the same copy of Communicator.
