Print this page (or have a friend print it) to have it at hand when you follow these instructions, since you'll have to be disconnected from the Internet to do so.

1. Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.
2. Locate and right-click (do not double-click) the dial-up networking icon and click the Properties button.
3. Ensure that Use country code and area code is unchecked.
4. Type the area code for the local dial-up number before the number in the Telephone number box.
5. Click OK.
